Supervisor – New Business Administration

Introduction / Job summary

Responsible for supervise the Underwriting Administration team members to provide service and interact with relevant parties such as underwriters, distributors, sales management, finance for any new business issue. Account for manage the pipeline of new business application from submission to issuance and later processes to make partners distribution and agents have confident in underwriting capability that will bring in more productive sales and production.

The Job

New Business Production & Pipeline

  • Underwrite and approve all cases include special request regarding the given authority
  • Plans and decides the effective application scanning, data entry for physical application and memo by staff or outsource
  • Organizes resources to do quality check of submitted application by electronic methods, follow up pending memo, and deliver the policy document within SLA
  • Drives the quality submission to improve %Clean application submission by leading in multiple activities to promote and change the behavior of distributors
  • Monitors and evaluate TPA service performance
  • Solves a problem of business as usual woks and determines the severity level of issue to promptly report management for every serious issue and impact to production or company

Team Management

  • Supervises team members to monitor the pipeline in workflow from receiving, manage to distribute application to underwriter within SLA, and enhance the communication to ensure partner distributions have sufficient information of their submitted application to response underwriter’s requests on time
  • Coaches and develops team members to be able to provide service and support to distributors on any query regarding underwriting guideline and process

Underwriting Service

  • Plans and organizes resources to run the UW inquiry service through hotline and e-mail in answering question or clarifying suspicious from distributors in the area of responsibility

The Person

  • Bachelor degree with 5+ years working experience
  • Experienced underwriting support or life operations administration with proven track records
  • Knowledge in underwriting ground rules and regulation
  • Ability to deal with the queries of field force distribution on client’s cases and manages positive relationship with effective negotiation skill
  • Ability to listen, coach, motivate, and develop team member
  • Stress tolerance under pressure
