FWD Donation to support Typhoon Haiyan Relief in Philippines

Last weekend Typhoon Haiyan struck the Philippines causing untold loss of life, injuries and leaving whole towns and villages without essential shelter, food and access to medicine. We extend our sincere sympathy to those affected by the tragedy.

Immense support is needed to rebuild the infrastructure and communities devastated by this major natural disaster. The FWD Group would like to play a part by donating 2 million pesos to the Adopt-A-School Program run by the Philippines Department of Education, who are coordinating the relief effort to rebuild schools in the affected areas. The Chairman of the FWD Group, Ronald Arculli, will be in Manila to present the donation cheque to a representative of the Philippines Department of Education on November 22, 2013.

We are aware that many of our staff and agents also want to help personally. So, in addition to the FWD Group donation, each of our offices in Hong Kong, Macau and Thailand will be matching any donations made by staff and agents. If you decide to make a donation, please do so by giving a cheque to your local Corporate Communications Department. The cheque should be made out to ‘FWD’ and placed in an envelope labeled “Donation to Typhoon Haiyan Relief in Philippines”.

Thank you in advance for your generous support for this much-needed relief effort. We will report back to you soon on the total amount raised and keep you updated on the progress to rebuild schools in the affected areas.
